The école vivante has been a state-recognised, free primary school since September 2010. This so-called “living school” accepts children from the first grade through to the sixth grade.
The pedagogical concept of the école vivante arose out of the concept of the Swiss “Scuola Vivante”. It testifies to deep respect with regard to the personality of the child with its individual strengths and weaknesses.
The école vivante is aimed at curious, motivated and dedicated children who are ready to go their own way and work both as individuals and integrated in groups. It offers a comprehensive education which is aligned with the national Moroccan curriculum but also upholds the local Berber language, the religion and culture as well as the discovery of new worlds and horizons. Here, the pupils get to know local Moroccan history and geography and old Berber traditions alongside foreign countries, languages and modern communication techniques.
The main focus of the education lies in the opportunity of every individual pupil to develop freely, in the promotion of their own talents and in the encouragement of their personal expression through practical work, though language and art.
The école vivante promotes a healthy spirit and a strong presence in its pupils: on the one hand rooted in the Muslim faith, the local culture and tradition, and, on the other hand, curious, interested and ready to open up the world and engage with it.
Days spent out in the open, creative work, daily practice of various languages as well as exchange with friends from Europe allow intercultural dialogue to become real and make everyday school life at école vivante lively and tangible.
