Pedagogical concept

Every era brings new ideas, requirements and challenges with it and every generation has to reinvent itself in a world that is different from that of their parents. This is particularly the case in areas in which traditional ways of life change abruptly through sudden modernisation processes. It is especially important in this case, not only to teach the new generation knowledge but also to train their consciousness and mindfulness and impart techniques of autonomous knowledge acquisition. The strengthening of the personality and the joy in life-long learning must be at the forefront here. 

Campus vivant’e faces these challenges with a future-oriented school concept. Our teaching is based on the idea that every child already bears the key to his or her own fulfilled life within them. In a school climate characterised by equity, freedom, a sense of community and understanding, the child can blossom and optimally develop their personal abilities in individual, creative activity, in communal learning and reciprocal support. The personal interests of the child and the active interaction with real things also serve as a basis for successful learning, whereby the role of the teacher as an encouraging learning companion and the child’s own motivation and engagement are prerequisites for success. 

In its work, campus vivant’e is very much aligned with the principles of the “Scuola Vivante- pedagogy”, which was developed by Swiss couple Veronika Müller Mäder and Jürg Mäder. These deeply human and respectful ideas were adapted by the Tapal-Mouzouns together with the local team to fit the Muslim way of life and the local situation in the Moroccan Aït Bouguemez valley. Thus, campus vivant’e provides space in which motivated children can learn in a autonomous way and develop by interacting with the environment and their fellow humans in order to establish and safeguard the desire and interest in life-long acquisition of knowledge. 

This pedagogical concept has an important role in Morocco. At campus vivant’e, all goals of the current state educational reforms have already been implemented successfully. For this reason, our educational institution is of great interest to the Education Ministry. Exchange with public schools and with the population is important and is actively promoted by the campus. The existing expertise is made available to the public and the public schools through targeted educational training at the académie vivante level.
